Sayl Plugins (Coming in v0.2.0)

An open and modular plugin architecture expanding Sayl to capture and download video and media from major global platforms.

Important & Transparent Note: The plugin architecture is scheduled on our roadmap for release v0.2.0 and is not present in the current v0.1.0 release (which focuses exclusively on high-speed direct HTTP/HTTPS downloads). Integration will rely on proven open-source tooling (such as yt-dlp and FFmpeg) without inventing unverified APIs. Follow roadmap progress on GitHub.

How the Plugin Architecture Will Work

  • Automatic Stream Detection: Pasting a supported link triggers the matching plugin, presenting direct resolution and bitrate options.
  • Local On-Device Processing: Media parsing and multiplexing run entirely on your local machine with zero remote tracking servers.
  • Independent Updates: Site extractors can update seamlessly when platforms tweak formats, without requiring a complete engine rebuild.
